Biography
Mohamed Abd Elaal Hussein currently serves as a consultant in paediatric orthopaedic surgery and limb reconstruction at several medical institutions, including the National Institute of Neuromotor Systems, the Maady Armed Forces Medical Complex, and the Naser Institute for Research.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hussein is the vice chair of the Paediatrics Orthopaedic Subspeciality of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT).
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 2007. He then pursued an intensive residency program in orthopaedic surgery at El Helmia Military Hospital from January 2011 to October 2012. Following that, he joined the National Institute of Neuromotor Systems in November 2012, where he served as a registrar, senior registrar, and specialist. Currently, he works as a consultant in paediatric orthopaedic surgery.
He holds an impressive academic background. He further pursued his education and earned an M.Sc. in orthopaedic surgery from Cairo University in 2013, followed by a PhD in orthopaedic surgery from Benha University in 2018.
Throughout his career, Dr Hussein has had the opportunity to work with pioneering orthopaedic surgeons, learning from their expertise. He values effective communication with patients and colleagues and is dedicated to continuous learning and teaching.
Dr. Hussein has taken part in various international training programs to enhance his skills and knowledge in paediatric orthopaedic surgery and limb reconstruction. Some notable examples include clinic fellowships at :
- Spiezing Orthopaedic Hospital in Vienna, Austria ,
- Children Hospital, Toulouse University, France ,
- Children's Hospital, Sheffield University, UK.
He has also conducted research and published several papers in renowned medical journals, focusing on topics such as fracture management, paediatric orthopaedic problems, and limb reconstruction. Dr Hussein has presented his research findings and expertise at numerous national and international conferences.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr Hussein has a passion for reading and enjoys expanding his knowledge beyond the field of medicine.
